**Obituary for Michael Kevin McNairy**
Michael Kevin McNairy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in
Greensboro, North Carolina. Born on March 22, 1961, in Greensboro, he was just shy of his 65th birthday at the time of his passing due to natural causes.
Michael's life was a harmonious blend of music, service, and family. From a young age, he displayed a remarkable talent for music, which he nurtured throughout his life. He graduated from Guilford Technical Community College with a degree in music, a testament to his dedication and passion. His love for music led him to a career as a DJ and musician, where he traveled to various churches and played with numerous bands, spreading joy and melody wherever he went.
A proud veteran, Michael served his country in the United States Army, where he continued to share his musical gifts as a member of the Army band. His service was a source of pride, and he cherished the camaraderie and experiences it brought him.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Michael was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved hockey, racing, and baseball, and was a devoted Carolina Tarheels fan. His enthusiasm for sports was matched only by his love for cooking, where he found joy in preparing meals for his family and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Wade Hickman and Margaret Mitchell McNairy. He leaves behind a legacy of love and music, survived by his devoted wife, Marie McNairy; his sons, Mike McNairy, Jaylen McNairy, and Darius McNairy; bonus daughters, Donyetta Strong and Rosezena Campbell; five cherished grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty, Diane, Joyce, and June, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Michael's life will be held at Noon on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service, located at 2110 Servomation Road,
Greensboro, North Carolina, 27407. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. A repast will immediately follow at Triad Cremation & Funeral.
Michael Kevin McNairy will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for music, and his generous spirit. May he rest in peace, forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
