Michael Christian Meagher

Michael Christian Meagher ("Mike") passed away on August 11, 2024 from a cardiac event. He was born on May 20, 1971 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mike graduated from Edina High School in 1990 and received his undergraduate and master's degree from George Washington University. While Minnesota was always his home, he loved his time in Washington D.C. He worked on political campaigns after completing his academic work.
He was committed to excellence in his career as a business analyst, consulting for numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Mike was an exceptional leader in the Boy Scouts of America, where he devoted innumerable hours of service in his role as scoutmaster, mentoring young people, serving the community, and enjoying time in nature. He served as a leader with the U.S. contingent at the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea. He volunteered as a Juvenile Diversion Facilitator with the Hennepin and Ramsey county court systems, where he helped young people in need. For the last year, he was an active member and volunteer at the Twin Cities Men's Center. In 2020, he volunteered assisting with vaccine sites with the State of Minnesota.
He loved walking around Bde Maka Ska, camping, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his fiancee, Dr. Johnna Hobbs; children, Jack and Lily Meagher; stepchildren, Matthew James and John Michael; mother, Margaret Meagher; and siblings. He was deeply loved by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday August 16th, at 2 PM at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W 50th St, Edina, MN 55436. Visitation one hour prior. Private burial at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.
