Michael Gregory Messer, known affectionately as Mike by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at the age of 64. He was born on March 27, 1961, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mike's presence was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Mike was friendly and always had the certain laugh that everyone mocked all the time. He was the sort of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them smiling and laughing. He would tell many stories of his motorcycle he oh so loved and his rides to many different states on the Harley. He loved riding all the time and would always talk about the bike gangs like he was a part of them.

Mike's dedication to his work was evident during his years as a truck driver, a profession that allowed him to explore the United States he loved, while making countless friends along the way. His commitment to his job was only surpassed by his commitment to his family and friends.

An avid fisherman, he enjoyed riding out to Brazos Bend State Park. Mike found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His passion for fishing was a testament to his patience and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. In his downtime, Mike could often be found with a cold Budweiser in hand, engrossed in the latest National Geographic show, or listening to his music on YouTube-his second favorite pastime. His eclectic taste in music was as much a part of him as his hearty laugh. He loved Guns and Roses!

Mike leaves behind a loving family, including his nieces Tina Marshall and Cynthia Marshall, his sister Cindy Depriest, and his brothers Mark and Robert Messer. His sister Pam Van will fondly remember the bond they shared. Each family member will carry forward the memory of Mike's generous spirit and the warmth of his companionship. He will now be with his father, mother, and brother William (Bill) in the heavens above.

As we say goodbye to Mike, we celebrate a life lived fully and with gusto. His stories, his laughter, and his kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Mike's legacy is one of joy, friendship, and the countless lives he touched with his humor and kindness. We take solace in knowing that his journey was a truly remarkable one and that the memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire and comfort us all.

Farewell, Mike. Your journey through this life was as meaningful as it was memorable. May you find the same peace and happiness you brought to so many during your time with us. Your memory will remain a guiding light to all who had the pleasure of knowing you.
