Dollie Mae Messer, 85, of Viola, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life to her Heavenly home on Monday, September 29, 2025, at her home in Viola surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 9, 1940, in Elizabeth, Arkansas, to the late Lee and Lona Bell (Shelton) Campbell. Dollie was united in marriage to the late Bobby Messer on February 26, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, and to this union four children were born. She enjoyed reading and watching TV. Dollie’s favorite pastime was music. She loved Southern Gospel music, and The Inspirations were her all time favorite group. Dollie also loved old gospel hymns, and she would often sing the old songs. She loved being with her family, especially with her grandchildren being the ultimate storyteller. Dollie was a member of Viola First Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas.

Dollie is survived by her children, Sherry Ettinger and husband Alan of Viola, Arkansas, Natalie Hines and husband Bryon of Kansas City, Missouri, Kenneth Messer and wife Denise of Greenwood, South Carolina and Patricia Messer of Viola, Arkansas; brothers, LJ Campbell and wife Helen of Viola, Arkansas, Joe Campbell and wife June of Bakersfield, Missouri and Neal Campbell and wife Carolyn of Gepp, Arkansas; sister, Margie Fry of Elizabeth, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kelly Alexander (John) of Melbourne, Florida, Karen Jezowski (Rodger) of Kansas City, Missouri, Alecia Hines of Kansas City, Missouri, David Ettinger (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Missouri, Ashley Hines of Kansas City, Missouri, Christopher Messer (Rissa) of Clinton, South Carolina, Blaine Hines (Nhung) of Kansas City, Missouri and Christen Good (Brandon) of Honea Path, South Carolina; great grandchildren, Ashton Jezowski, Isabelle Alexander, Jacob Dodson, Nicholas Jezowski, James Messer, Hyacin Hines, Elijah Ettinger, Atlas Wright, Jeremiah Messer, Holly Alexander, Adalene Hines, Eisley Claire, Adelaide Messer, Bryce Hines, Silas Ettinger, Blake Hines, Michael Good, Remington Ettinger, Bennett Hines and Liam Good and numerous other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Messer; parents; siblings and other family members.

Pallbearers include: John Alexander, Rodger Jezowski, David Ettinger, Christopher Messer, Brandon Good, Jacob Dodson, Nicholas Jezowski and Bryon Hines

Honorary Pallbearers include: James Messer, Elijah Ettinger, Atlas Wright, Jeremiah Messer, Bryce Hines, Silas Ettinger, Blake Hines, Michael Good, Bennett Hines and Liam Good

Funeral services will be Friday, October 3, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM at Viola First Baptist in Viola, Arkansas, with Bro. Craig Golden officiating, Alan Ettinger and Blaine Hines speaking. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas.
