Michael A. Meyer, beloved husband of Susan King, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 15, 2024.
A native of St. Louis, MO, Michael was a son of the late Gregory A. and Anna Jean Caldwell Meyer. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he earned a degree in Russian from Indiana University. That paved the way for his unique role as a Russian linguist during his service stationed in Berlin. He later earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Missouri.
Michael had a zest for life that included a deep love for soccer. In his younger years, he played avidly and had the memorable experience of meeting the legendary Pelé at a soccer match.
Michael had a love of animals which was evident by his fondness for dogs. He possessed a creative spirit showcased through his love for photography. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed the art of cooking and baking bread, sharing warmth and comfort through his culinary creations, including his award-winning chili.
Surviving is his wife of 8 years, Susan; two step-children, Kelle McCarthy, Aiken, Keith Veidt (Kelly), Springdale, AR; four step-grandchildren, Jakob McCarthy, Jason McCarthy, Ryan Veidt (Emma), Reilly Hopper (Justin); a sister, Margaret Meyer, Phoenix, AZ and his nephew, Michael Meyer, Phoenix, AZ.
A Celebration of Michael's Life will be Friday afternoon, January 24, 2025 at 1:30 PM in Cedar Creek Church.
