Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home - PlattsmouthMichael Gordon Munhall, age 70, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in his home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. He was born on October 15, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Jack and Jacquelyn (Krejci) Munhall.
Mike grew up in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1973. He furthered his education at Southeast Community College - Milford Technical Campus, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Auto Mechanics in 1975.
Mike dedicated much of his professional life to the field of auto mechanics. He spent many years working at Bridgestone-Firestone, later moving to Bellevue Auto & Tire, where he eventually retired.
On February 12, 1982, he was united in marriage to Linda Davis in Plattsmouth, and together they raised four sons: Ryan, Marcus, Nate, and Brandon. Although they later divorced, Mike and Linda maintained a close friendship throughout their lives.
He was an active member of the Plattsmouth Eagles Club over the years, Mike served in numerous capacities, including President. While his boys were younger, he was involved with the Boy Scouts. A fan of NHRA and Nascar racing, Mike also enjoyed collecting various items and cultivating cherry tomatoes in his bucket garden. Above all, he found immense joy in attending and cheering for his grandchildren at their various sports and activities.
Mike is survived by his four sons: Ryan (Wendi) Munhall of Omaha, NE; Marcus (Brittany) Munhall of Plattsmouth, NE; Nate (Amanda) Munhall of St. James, MO; and Brandon (Chelsea) Munhall of Plattsmouth, NE; daughter, Jen (Dave) Busch of Burwell, NE; 21 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Lyn Batten and Lori Munhall. He is also survived by his former wife and friend, Linda Davis of Plattsmouth, NE.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Munhall and Jacquelyn Munhall, his brother-in-law, Don Batten and granddaughter Rebecca Busch.
A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held on March 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bellevue Eagles Club. At the Celebration of Life the floor will be open for anyone who would like to share a story or memory. If you would like us to share something on your behalf, please email it to [email protected].
The day will be about remembering and sharing the stories, laughter, and the impact Mike had on everyone who knew him.
Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
