Michael Francis “Mike” Nolan, of Newtown Square, PA sadly passed away on July 31, 2025, at the age of 61. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Michael and Margaret Mary (née Cloney) Nolan.
Mike was a 1981 graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School. While attending Cardinal O’Hara he was apart of the Stage Crew and Tennis for his 4 years of school. After graduation, Mike became a tennis professional at Aronimink Golf Club and Whitford Country Club for 10 years. Mike then found his true passion of finish carpentry that ended up being his lifelong career. Most recently, Mike was the construction manager for Eadeh Enterprises for over 20 years, where his dedicated leadership skills earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
From his earliest days, Mike was all about Philly sports. Whether it was the Phillies in the summer, the Eagles in the fall, the Sixers in the winter or March Madness with Villanova, he never missed a game.
Mike’s love for golf was passed down from his father and stayed with him throughout his life. Later on, sharing the game more frequently with his sons, Matt and Luke, became one of his greatest joys. Mike not only passed his passion for golf on to his wife, Ruth, but also brought the entire family together each year by organizing an annual golf outing-now a cherished tradition 19 years strong. A tradition that will carry on for many years to come. You could always count on Mike for a laugh because of his humor and quick wit. Mike had a rare gift: he could strike up a friendship with anyone, simply by being himself. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and anyone that was fortunate enough to have known him.
Michael was the beloved husband of Ruth E. (née McIlwain) Nolan; the loving father of Matthew Nolan (Corrine) and Luke Nolan, (Kayleigh); the proud and caring grandfather of Luke, Jr, Delaney, and Paige. He is also survived by his brothers, Kevin Nolan (Wendy) and Brian Nolan, (Mary), and his sister, Barbara Cross (John) and many nieces and nephews. Mike is predeceased by his brother, Robert Nolan.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor Mike at a Visitation on Saturday August 9, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
