Michael “Mike” James Tapp, age 57 of Winona, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Mike graduated from Austin High School, the class of 1986, and Riverland Community College with a degree in Automotive Machining. Mike worked at Benchmark for 10 plus years.
Above all else, Mike had a need for speed. He loved drag racing and being around fast cars.
Mike is survived by his dad, James (Janet); brothers, Patrick (Connie) and Tom (Andrea); nieces and nephew, Courtney (Allie), Alicia, and Evan; great nieces and nephew, Rosie, Nati, Knowle, and Arizona; his beloved cat, Peanut; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; nephew Rayce Tapp; uncles, David Tapp, Mark Reiling, and William Meek; aunt, Carol (Tapp) Hanson; and cousins, Daniel Meek and Jesse Meek.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, 11am-2pm at Hoff Celebration of Life Center (3480 Service Dr. Winona, MN).
In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to the American Heart Association.
Hoff Celebration of Life Center is assisting the family.
