Michael R. Mills

DEVOTED BROTHER, FATHER, AND GRANDFATHER
Mr. Michael R. Mills, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Born on May 6, 1943, in Jersey City, NJ, Mike was the son of the late Robert and Helen (Mykytka) Mills. He attended James J. Ferris High School in Jersey City, NJ and obtained his Associate's Degree from Brevard Community College in Melborne, FL. He worked as a meat inspector for the U.S.D.A for over 25 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines having served six years in the early 1960's.
Having owned a 1931 Model A Ford, Mike was a classic car afficionado and enjoyed spending time at car shows, especially car shows held in Crescent City, FL where he lived for 14 years. He was a huge fan of 1950's doo wop music and an avid storyteller, often repeating the same stories.
Selfless and loving, Mike's number one priority was his family. He was an amazing father and grandfather who adored his two granddaughters.
Mike is survived by his two daughters Michelle Mills of Hackensack, NJ and Dr. Regina Kijewski and her husband Stefan of Waterbury and his beloved granddaughters Ava Kijewski and Adison Kijewski, both of Waterbury. He also leaves his sister Patricia Gerges and her husband George of Wharton, NJ, his sister-in-law Evelyn Mills of Wood-Ridge, NJ and his former wife Rose Mills of Crescent City, FL as well as many nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his brothers William, Robert, Thomas, Joseph, and Edward Mills.
