Michael Anthony Mitola

Michael Anthony Mitola age 65, of Shelton CT entered into rest on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Bridgeport CT on November 8, 1959 and was the son of the late Francis and Jane (LaScala) Mitola and brother to the late Thomas Mitola. He was a graduate of Shelton High School and remained a lifelong Shelton resident.
After graduating, Michael attended the Paier School of Art to pursue his passion for photography. Following his studies, he worked as a photographer for the Suburban News, Shelton's local newspaper at the time, capturing images for community stories and events.
Over the years, Michael held roles as a grocery manager at several supermarkets and later served as a night manager at Walmart. He later owned and operated his own landscaping company before retiring.
He was a member of the Czecho Club in Shelton and was an avid gardener who spent much of his free time outdoors, tending to his vegetable garden and maintaining his yard.
Michael had a caring, compassionate, and gentle soul. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit lives on and will leave a lasting void in the hearts of many.
He was the beloved brother of Gary Mitola and his wife Jody and John Mitola and uncle of Dylan Mitola.
His funeral services are private.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton had been entrusted with his arrangements.
