Michael Molbert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carnes Funeral Home - Texas City on Jan. 2, 2024.
Michael Wallace Molbert, 54, passed away suddenly on December 28, 2023, in Katy, Texas. He
was born in Port Arthur, Texas on July 16, 1969.
Mike completed Job Corps at the young age of fifteen and had been a hardworking man ever
since. He was a commercial welder, iron worker, and rigger, and, most recently, a crane
operator on commercial and industrial projects. Many affectionally referred to him as "Iron
Mike", both because of his career and physical build.
He was beloved for his practical, straightforward manner and being a source of wisdom and
support for his family and friends. Mike had a fun disposition with quick wit. His love for cars
and the outdoors was contagious. At home, he was a good handyman and mechanic. Mike was
a very loving husband, son, son-in-law, brother, and uncle. He was a devoted dog lover and will
be sorely missed by his 5-month old puppies, "Bonnie and Clyde". He will be remembered for
his generosity, beautiful smile, heart of gold and always being so full of strength and life. We
find peace and comfort knowing he is now with his Lord and Savior.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Milton Anthony Molbert Jr, mother, Susie Ruth
Molbert Williams (Elmore), brother Milton Anthony Molbert III "Smokey", and brother Sylvio
Joseph Molbert.
He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty years, Cheryl Marie Molbert (Porcarello), sister Paula
Michelle Molbert, brother Paul Erik Molbert (Jeanna), In laws Thomas and Mary Jane
Porcarello, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as many cherished
extended family members and friends.
The family has chosen to have a Celebration of Life in his honor, details forthcoming.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in
memory of Michael Molbert.

Mike was a good guy and a good cousin. One of my 1st memories of Mike was coming over to grandma Elmore's house and he and his sister and brothers were about 8 to 10 years older than me so they were cool teenagers. It was the 80's era and grandma was excited about going to Galvaston Beach with the Molbert cousins and her daughter Susie. In recent years we connected again over Facebook and cousin Mike and a few other cousins and I got together and got our Elmore grandparents grave stones. That memory will truly stay with me all my days. It's an attribute to his character. Mike was a husband, brother, grandson , son , uncle, cousin, and friend to many and will be missed. I know for sure he walked through those pearly gates. We will miss ya cousin Mike. Save me a seat on the other side. ~ Kelly
