HODGDON: Michael C. Murchie, 61, passed away on August 3, 2025, in Presque Isle, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 4, 1964, in Houlton, the son of Priscilla "Maxine" Todd and Gerald Murchie.

A lifelong resident of Hodgdon, Michael graduated from Hodgdon High School and spent his entire life in the community. For over 30 of those years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Shelley, who passed away in 2018.

Michael had a deep passion for anything with a motor. He spent much of his career behind the wheel of a truck or working in a garage, and found true joy in his '73 Camaro and riding motorcycles. His family remembers him as a hardworking man with a strong spirit and generous heart. His son, Josh, will always cherish the memories they made together-from car shows and rock concerts to late nights painting or wrenching in the Sled Cave.

Michael was predeceased by his father, Gerald, and his wife of 30 years, Shelley. He is survived by his mother, Maxine, and stepfather, Mike; his son, Joshua, and daughter-in-law, Jonelle; and his beloved grandchildren, Kaylana, Eva, and Elex. He also leaves behind his brothers: Keith and wife Sheila, Kevin and wife Effie, Roger, and Christopher, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. on August 30, 2025, at Hodgdon Cemetery, with a gathering to follow at the Linneus Rec Department building at 1784 Bangor Rd. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowers Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at bowersfuneral.com
