Larry Frederick McIntire

Presque Isle and Caribou, Maine-Larry Frederick McIntire was born February 28, 1944, in Caribou, Maine, to Frederick and Ardrith (Briggs) McIntire of Perham, Maine. He passed peacefully to his rest in Caribou, Maine, on July 26, 2025, at the age of 81 after a long battle with cancer. His family and special friend were with him.

Larry was a veteran in the U.S. Army stationed in Fort Hamilton, New York, and served between 1965 and 1967 in Germany. He received a National Defense Service Medal and Expert Rifle commendations.

Larry's life-long love was driving an 18-Wheeler and he was often heard saying that his favorite seat was behind the wheel of his truck. For over 60+ years he drove for many companies, and he took great pride in every truck he drove and kept it shining and spotless.

Larry has one daughter, Shelly Adams (Steve) of Storrs, Connecticut. He has one sister, Lisa Speed (Frank) of Winterport, Maine, and two brothers-Chuck McIntire (Nancy) of Bridgewater, Maine, and Tom McIntire (Cheryl) of Coventry, Connecticut. Larry also leaves many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Frederick and Ardrith (Briggs) McIntire.

Larry leaves behind his companion and caregiver of over 11 years, Doreen Moody, of Caribou, Maine. We, as a family, can't thank her enough on behalf of our brother and family.

We would also like to thank the Northern Light Care & Hospice for their love and support during in-home-hospice care.

A graveside service will be held on September 7, 2025, at the Fairview Cemetery, Perham, Maine, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at the Caribou Education Center, 100 Lombard Road, Caribou, Maine.
