Michael Shaun Murray “Hillbilly”
47, of Hamilton, passed away, Sunday, November 2, 2025.
He was born October 1, 1978 in Cincinnati.
Hillbilly was preceded in death by his father, Gary Murray.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Murray; children, Michael Murray, Jr., Tuesday Raley, Dougie Burke, Dawna Ray Burke, Alexis Murray, and Coleman Murray; a host of grandchildren; mom, Rena Murray; siblings, Bobby Murray, Bert Murray, Kelly Richardson, Bridgette Murray, Shawna Hendricks, Dawna Murray, and Jeff Mosley; special niece and nephews, Braylee, Brantley, and Turner; special friend, Todd Justice; and a host of brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and friends that loved him.
Hillbilly had a heart as big as the engines he loved to build. A true craftsman at heart, he could take a pile of rust and turn it into a roaring beauty—especially if it was a square-bodied Chevy. He found peace in the sound of a motor rumbling to life, the kind of satisfaction only a real gearhead could understand.
But more than his love of cars, Hillbilly’s greatest joy came from being surrounded by family. Whether he was under the hood or at the dinner table, his world revolved around the people he loved most. He never hesitated to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer advice, and he had a way of making everyone feel like they were part of something special.
Family came first—always. His pride in them showed in every story he told and every project he finished. Those who knew him will remember his easy smile, his deep laugh, and the grease-stained hands that built not just cars, but memories that will last a lifetime.
Though the garage lights may be dim tonight, the sound of his laughter and the legacy of his love will keep on running strong.
Hillbilly’s family will have an open-house tomorrow (Wednesday, November 5) all day and are encouraged to stop in at his sister, Dawna’s house at 7698 State Route 177, Camden, Ohio 45311.
