Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral HomeMichael S. Norton, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2025, at Vancrest of Eaton after a lengthy illness. Born on December 25, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas, Michael lived a life full of warmth and connection, never hesitating to engage those around him.
Michael worked at Rexarc before retiring from Berry Plastics. Throughout his professional journey, he was known for his engaging personality; he never met a stranger and took great pleasure in conversing with both friends and neighbors alike. His enthusiasm for life extended beyond his career, as he delighted in spending money, with a penchant for collecting baseball cards, stamps, and a myriad of other treasures.
After graduating from St. Gerard High School, in San Antonio, TX, Michael joined the US Army and served his country with dedication and honor. His military service was a testament to his character—valuing commitment and camaraderie throughout his life.
Those who knew Michael will remember him for his generous spirit and love for engaging conversation. He enjoyed spending time working on computers and connecting with those around him, strengthening the bonds of friendship and family.
Michael is survived by his beloved son, John Norton; his devoted daughter, Amber (Lance) Gallaher; and his cherished grandsons, Brendon and Caleb Gallaher. He will also be missed by his siblings, Maryann, Thomasina, John, William, and Debbie.
In addition to his loving family, Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Norton. His legacy of kindness and connection will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
