Michael Irwin Notarus

Michael Irwin Notarus, Age 83 passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in Lake Forest, California. He was born on February 22, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to his late parents Nathan and Cecelia Notarus. Michael is now at rest and joined with his beloved wife Ruth Ann Notarus and much missed and loved daughter Michele Lynn Notarus, after almost a 41 year wait. Beloved and dedicated father of Scott Allen Notarus. Cherished and loving grandfather of Kyle Fox Notarus. Brother to Edward Notarus and Evelyn (Cookie) Bash. Uncle Mike to many and friend to countless others.
The words "funny", "comical", "loving" and "friendship" barely scratch the surface of describing Michael. His mere presence was felt when he entered a room (even at 5'-2"). When you heard his voice, his laugh, saw his smile or felt his embrace - it always remained long after he left. His high level spirit, dedication to family, friends and loved ones – will always be there for everyone to see and feel.
Michael's friendship and nature (even his stubbornness) warmed all that he knew (or at least most / some of us.). His overall joking nature always will be a reminder with the way he told a story or shared an experience (be it good, bad, funny or indifferent) and was something that he alone mastered. His understanding, guidance and constant supportive love as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and specifically as a friend - will and shall remain with everyone that knew him.
While Michael left us far too quickly, he did so on his own terms and by his own set of rules. Even in death, he just did it "his" way (as he had always done). Michael leaves behind so many memories, so many stories and far too many funny instances. He shall and will always remain with and in the hearts of those whom loved and cherished him – and to those he cherished and loved.
Visitation Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home 7710 S Cass Ave, Darien, Illinois. Service Friday, June 20th, 2025 at 10:00am at Modell Funeral Home followed by interment at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien, Illinois.
