Mr. Michael Lee O’Briant, 71, of Winston-Salem, formerly of Oak Island, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. Born on July 13, 1954, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Michael was the son of the late Calvin Lee and Shirley Council O’Briant. He dedicated many years of his professional life as a Database Administrator until his retirement. On August 25, 1979, he married the love of his life, Peggy Jean Clinard, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Michael was an avid fisherman who found joy in spending time outdoors, especially doing yard work and detailing his cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Amick, and his nephew, Joshua Amick.

Left to treasure his memory are his devoted wife of 46 years, Peggy; his children, Michael Lee O’Briant II (Stephanie) and Heather Gastley (Brian); and grandchildren, Michael “Trey” Lee O’Briant III, Savannah Moser, McKenzie Gastley, and Judson Gastley. He is also survived by his uncle, Everette “Buddy” Council (Dee), and his beloved fur-baby, Pepper.
