Michael “Myko” Ouk, 35, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. His family is deeply heartbroken by this sudden loss.
Born on April 6, 1989, in Denver, Colorado, Michael was the eldest son of Pengonn Man and Yim Ouk. From a young age, he was determined to carve out a better future for himself and his family. He graduated with an Associates Degree from Lincoln College of Technology in 2009 and, shortly after, began his career at Emich Chevrolet in Lakewood as an Automotive Apprentice. In the following years, his dedication and work ethic earned him the rank of Master Mechanic after a 14-year tenure.
In 2010, Michael and his wife, Jenny Mai Nguyen, were overjoyed to learn they were expecting their first son, Tyson Nguyen Ouk. As a devoted husband, father, and son, Michael's family meant the world to him. His love for his wife and children was evident in everything he did—he worked tirelessly to ensure they were cared for and provided for. Though often a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Outside of his family, Michael was a man of many passions. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed a good game of chess, and loved spending time with his friends and family. Michael’s zest for life also extended to exploring new foods and going on adventures with his loved ones. His enthusiasm and generosity of spirit inspired all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Chhieng Kho.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Mai Nguyen; his sons, Tyson Nguyen Ouk and Mason Raiden Ouk; his parents, Pengonn Man, and Yim Ouk; his stepmother, Khon Long; his sister, Jeanette Ouk Rivard; his brother, David Ouk; his niece, Aspen Lynn Ouk; and his dog, Otis Ouk.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1 PM to 6 PM at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO. The service will include ceremonial monk prayers from 1 PM to 2 PM, followed by an open viewing from 2 PM to 6 PM.
