Obituary of Michael R. Owens
Michael Richard Owens, affectionately known as Mike, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25th, surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 75. Born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Edward and Anna (Winchester) Owens, Mike went on to leave an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
For over 40 years, Mike called the beautiful Bucks County, PA home-a community where he and his beloved wife, Catherine (Cathie) Owens, built a life together spanning almost 52 years.
As an entrepreneur with ventures in seafood, video, and home security, Mike was widely respected not only for his business acumen but also for his warm, generous spirit.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mike had a zest for life that shone through his many interests. Whether he was on the golf course, out fishing, or cheering for his favorite hockey team (watching his son or grandson), his true passion was cooking. There was nothing he loved more than gathering a table full of family and friends to share in hearty meals and laughter.
His greatest joy, however, was serving as the cherished Pop Pop to his four grandchildren-Connor, Abigail, Ella, and Lily-who brought him immeasurable happiness.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Anna Owens. He is survived by his devoted wife Cathie; his daughter, Hilary (Michael) Kokoszka; his son, Michael (Christa) Owens; his grandchildren; his brother, Edward (Ellen) Owens; his sister, Roseann Clark; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A funeral mass celebrating Mike's life will be held on Tuesday, March 4th at 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church, located at 316 Old Allerton Road in Annandale, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his honor to the National Kidney Foundation () or The Wounded Warriors Project ().
Mike's legacy of love, kindness, and culinary passion will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.
