Obituary of Richard H Klein

Richard "Rick" H. Klein, 81, of Long Valley, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30 th. Born on December 7, 1944, in Dunellen/Plainfield, New Jersey, Rick was the beloved son of the late George and Harriet (Masser) Klein.

Rick proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for six years, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to duty, integrity, and service. Following his military service, he built a successful career in the construction industry, where he worked as a Construction Appraiser for Furman Schliefer Construction, earning the respect of many through his attention to detail, and strong work ethic.

In June of 1969, Rick married the love of his life, Janice Sadowski Klein, with whom he shared a devoted and loving marriage. They built a life grounded in loyalty, humor, and unwavering partnership.

Rick had a deep love for the outdoors and was a passionate hunter and fisherman who found peace and joy in nature-especially during quiet mornings in the woods. He cherished his many trips to the Adirondacks, where the beauty of the mountains and lakes brought him a special sense of contentment. Among his greatest joys was raising and loving his championship German Shorthaired Pointers, who were not only exceptional hunting companions but also beloved members of his family.

Rick was predeceased by his brother, sister and his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife Janice, and his extended family including brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, John Sadowski (Pat), Charles Sadowski (Patty), Benjamin Sadowski (Harold), Michael Sadowski (Robb), Peter Sadowski (Linda), Nancy Troisi (Mark) and Kathleen Marcin (Joe) along with many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will deeply miss his gentle spirit.

Richard "Rick" Klein will be remembered as a faithful husband, a proud serviceman, and a kind and steady soul whose quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
