My Uncle Mike (The Honorable Michael Palmisano) was a wonderful person. When he hired me as an intern, first in the Erie County Public Defender´s Office, and later as his judicial clerk, I saw his compassion and fairness toward the people he served.

As Erie County´s Public Defender, Uncle Mike was always treated the office´s clients with dignity, respect, and compassion. As a judge, he was professional, courteous, and empathetic to the parties before him. Judge Palmisano´s empathy never prejudiced his rulings, however, as he was a stickler for ethics and for following the law. His passing is a loss to the community, and to us, his family. We love you Uncle Mike. Rest in heaven.

We had the privilege of knowing Judge Palmisano both at work and outside of work. We were also lucky enough to see him at Manchester Commons and enjoy his sense of humor even in his 90s. Our sympathies go out to all the family, he will be missed.

I had the privilege of knowing and interacting with this great man, as an Adult Probation/Parole Officer in Court. " Mike" was genuine, down to earth, humorous and did his job to perfection. He was also very kind to my mother, who worked for Erie County as well. Certainly a life well lived, and now Judge Palmisano has eternal peace in God´s heavenly kingdom.

My condolences to the Palmisano family. I was Michael´s secretary for the beginning of his career at the Erie County Public Defenders office. We remained friends for years after I decided to stay home with my young children. I have a photo of him and Donald "Pudge" Williams where I worked as a bartender on weekends at the 3D´s. Michael and I would eat lunch at the 3D´s often as he and Pudge had lived their lives helping out at their family bar establishments. There were many stories, many laughs and a lifelong friendship that I will forever cherish. Rest in Peace Michael. Thank you for your friendship and kindness.
