In Loving Memory of Michael James PapaGiorgio (Cadwell)
February 6, 1951 – November 1, 2025
With hearts full of sorrow, we announce the passing of Michael James PapaGiorgio (Cadwell), who went home to Our Lord and Savior on November 1, 2025. Surrounded by his beloved family, Michael departed this world in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Loving father of Anthony (Stephanie), Giovanna and Michael PapaGiorgio. Beloved son of the late Richard Cadwell and Mary Pappas Rogers. Cherished brother of the late John Cadwell.
Born on February 6, 1951, Michael lived a life as dynamic and spirited as the man himself. In his youth, he was a gifted athlete whose talent shone brightly across football, basketball, and baseball. His achievements earned him All-State and All-American honors, and he was offered multiple professional contracts-a testament to his extraordinary skill and determination. As a quarterback, shooting guard, and catcher, Michael played not just with strength, but with heart.
After his time in sports, Michael embraced the energy of New York City, where his larger-than-life personality found a new stage. He built a successful career in sales, commodities, and investments, and became the voice behind his own radio show-broadcasting across the country and connecting with listeners through thoughtful conversations and carefully chosen music. One of his greatest joys was selecting the bumper tracks that opened each segment, sharing his love of music with everyone who tuned in.
But beyond the accolades and airwaves, Michael was a loving father, a man of deep humility and profound faith. His relationship with God was the quiet foundation of his life, guiding him and comforting his soul. In one of his final messages to his family, he shared the words of John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you." That peace now surrounds him, and we take comfort knowing he rests in the eternal embrace of our Lord.
Michael's presence was a gift-his laughter, his wisdom, his devotion to those he loved. He is survived by his three cherished children: Anthony (Stephanie), Giovanna, and Michael. Their lives are a reflection of his love, and his spirit will live on in their hearts.
May his memory be eternal. May his soul be at peace. And may we carry forward the light he shared with us all.
Donaations to St John Chrysostomos Monastery would be appreciated.
John 14:1-6
I AM the way and the Truth and the Life-
"Let not your hears be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way where I am going."
Thomas said to him;
"Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?
Jesus said to him,
"I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me."
