Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ansberg-West Funeral Directors on Aug. 25, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Michael R. Parraz Michael passed away quietly in the early morning on August 20, 2025, surrounded by family at the Hospice of NWO. Michael was born on September 21, 1957, in Toledo Ohio, to Conception and Fidencio Parraz. Michael's education fell short and worked his way through life with various jobs. At an early age Michael was a hard worker to help provide for his family and his needs. Together at a young age he and his family during the summer would pack up and head to Traverse City Mi. to pick cherries, then back home for the tomato and cucumber harvest. Michael also worked for Toledo Fruit, City of Toledo as a garbage collector and other jobs throughout his life. Michael found his passion in Boxing. He would go to the Kent-Bancroft Gym daily to train and became a Golden Gloves Champion that led him to being a Professional Boxer, he was known as Psyco Michael! Michael worked hard to raise money for traveling to train and box in various cities. Michael's career ended shortly after a wrist injury, but his passion did not stop him. He continued to stay fit and did what he loved. He was a brother that would help you out if needed and not ask for anything in return. He loved to tell jokes and had phrases for certain loved ones. Micheal loved his children, grandchildren his nieces and nephews. Michael did what he loved till the very end of his life. He leaves a lot of memories and good times; he will be deeply missed. Michael fought his last fight with Cancer; The Fight is Over Brother! May his soul Rest in Peace. Michael is survived by his fiancé, Jenny Collins; children, Michael Parraz Jr, (Stephanie Rachel), Eric Parraz, (Ashely), Tara Helton (Armon); grandchildren, Ramon, Michael, Angel, Lalaine, Camron, Jayce, Christopher, Steven, Grace, Eric Jr, Matisol, Josiah and Ariyah; great grandchildren, Ramon Jr, Luna and Liliana; siblings, Stella Ruiz (Pedro), David Parraz (Ellen), Delia Ethridge, Elena Parraz, Linda Johnson (Mark), Olga Viertlbeck (Mickey) and Ruben Parraz; many nieces and nephews to count; his uncle Bennie and many cousins, he loved them all! Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Conception and Fidencio Parraz; siblings, Elida and Joe Torres, Fidencio Parraz Jr, Blanca Eva Goins; nephews, Angelo Ruiz, Ruben Parraz Jr., and Santiago Ruiz Jr. Services will be provided by Ansberg-West Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 2240 Castlewood Dr., Toledo, Ohio 43613, with visitation beginning at 10:00am and Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am. I am just now finding out that Michael passed. I spent a couple years with him and the family. He was always looking for the next exciting thing to do. Everywhere we went more than one person would know him, at the same time he was also grounded. He built a fence Mexican style around the front yard. We had so many compliments on it. He decorated the walls in the dining room and added small tile in a hallway. I will remember the good times and hugs to all family members.
