Michael Dale Peninger

Michael Dale Peninger, known affectionately as Dale, passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2023, in Huntersville. He was born on April 17, 1997, and his departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Dale had a kind and generous soul, making friends with everyone he met and displaying an unwavering willingness to help others. He dedicated his professional life as a caregiver at Hunter Village Assisted Living, where he provided compassionate support to the residents and made a positive impact on their lives. His dedication to his career spoke volumes about his character and his innate desire to make a difference in the world.
Outside of his work, Dale cherished the company of his beloved family and friends. In particular, he held a special place in his heart for his niece Violet, brother Mickey, and his cat Pepper. These relationships were an immense source of joy and comfort for Dale throughout his life.
Dale had a zest for life that was evident in the numerous hobbies and interests he pursued. The beach held a special allure for him, where he found solace in its calming atmosphere and enjoyed swimming in its pristine waters. Additionally, he had quite the talent for playing pool and took pleasure in basking under the hot sun while engaging in friendly competition with friends.
On August 11, 2023, a visitation will be held from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Raymer - Kepner in Huntersville. This will be followed by a funeral service at 8:00 PM, both located at 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078.
Dale was preceded in death by his grandfather Clarence Gryder, grandmother Sara Gryder, great grandfather William Carpenter, and great grandmother Annie Carpenter, aunts Lee Cochran and Dawn Gryder, and cousin Peanut. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his mother Jenny Peninger, father Michael Peninger, brother Mickey Peninger, sister-in-law Jennifer Peninger, and niece Violet Peninger. His aunts Rachel & Sara Connelly, and grandparents Jimmy and Irene Peninger, also mourn his loss. He leaves behind his uncle Jeff Penninger, aunt Jennifer Peninger, cousins Hailey Peninger and Wesley Peninger, as well as special cousins Gary Ray and Christopher Cochran; along with his "second mom" Mary Boger and "sister" Mattie Dales, in addition to many other cousins and friends.
In this difficult time of grieving, may the memories of Dale's kindness and warmth bring comfort to all who mourn his passing. May we cherish the moments shared in his presence and hold dear the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children in Dale's honor.
