Michael Petitti (91) of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Monday, September 29th surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born in Canton, Ohio to his parents Nicholas and Concetta Petitti.

Mike was a past president and member of the Northeast Alabama Crafters Association (NECA) for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling.

Mike received an Associate Degree in the automotive field. For years, he was employed by Coen Oil before starting his own business, where he developed many friendships. He moved to Huntsville to accept a management position with Onan Generators, manufacturing parts for NASA's space shuttles. After retiring from Onan, he took a part-time job with Publix grocery store where he gained many more friendships. During those years, he loved traveling to visit family and delight them with his tall tales, Italian baking, and homemade limoncello. At the young age of 88, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by traveling to Italy to visit the birthplace of his father.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph, and beloved wife Shirley of 64 years.

He is survived by his son Michael Petitti Jr (Anita) of Phoenix, AZ, daughters Michelle(John) Oboyle of Canton, OH, Stephanie Petitti of San Diego, CA, Kimberly (Kevin) Knight of Madison, AL. Eight grandchildren: Keri (Zach) Hann, Bianca (Bryan) McKeown, Michael Petitti III, Kyle Oboyle, Joshua Bennett, Jonathan Bennett, David (Hillary) Knight, Kristina (Dustin) Easterling. Eight great-grandchildren: Brett, Brandon, Brooklynn, and Bree McKeown, Lola and Wilson Hann, RaeLynn and Nolen Knight, Beloved sister JoAnn (Rich) Stolicny and Beloved brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Pat Miller, sister-in-law Donna Jones, and host of nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held on February 14th, 2026 at 1:00pm at Arnold & Spiker Foster Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44709. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery on February 14th at 11:00am. Family requests donations to American Cancer Society in Mikes name or any other Charity of your choice.
