Mike showed up one day during a cross country practice and introduced himself. He asked if he could help out and was a cross country runner and graduate from Brebeuf in 1986. I told him he would always be a welcome addition to our XC family. He was always the positive and supportive coach. He would run around during the meets and yell "GO BRAVES GO" until the last runner finished. He would tell the kids we were going to win State! Finally it dawned on me that his message was correct. Set a tough goal and strive for it! We did and we were able to achieve a State Championship in 2021, one that so many never thought possible. Thanks Coach Mike for always believing and supporting the Braves! You´ll always be a Brebeuf Jesuit cross country legend. Rest in Peace my friend.

My heart is heavy today. Even though I haven't seen Mike in many years, I thought about him often. The humor, kindness and friendship he extended to me in our youth, has always held a very special place inside my heart. A place that he will continue to occupy for as long as I live.

Coach Mike was an absolute joy to have as part of our Brebeuf Jesuit Cross Country family. During my time their, from 1996-2000 there was no one who showed more support and enthusiasm for our runners. I remember him as "The Wrecking Machine" because that's what he would call us as we ran by. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and send my prayers, love, and condolences to his family and friends.
