Michael Roy Philyaw

Michael Roy Philyaw, 76, of Comfort passed away Monday, January 5, 2026 at ECU Health in Greenville. "Mike" was a heavy equipment operator most of his life, and he worked long hours. When his health started declining, he retired and focused on his daughter and granddaughters. He loved going to go-cart races, drag strip, round track races, and helping his friends that raced. He loved to go shopping and eating out with his daughter and granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Frances Philyaw, brothers Gilbert Philyaw and Kevin Philyaw, sisters Edna Jones and Gail Mitchell, ex-wife whom his feelings never faded for, Nancy Mantie.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Philyaw (Ron Daughety), grandchildren Michaela Philyaw (Colby), Lyndsey Philyaw, Vanessa Cash (JP and Wyatt), Katelynn Daughety, Dillon Daughety, sisters Terri Philyaw and Kim Brinson, and two special people that were raised to call him "Uncle Mike", Charley Beddard and Brandon Mantie, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
