Michael Edward Plunkett, age 53, of Greenbrier, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Tuesday, September 23rd, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, with Bro. Mark Carroll officiating. Entombment will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Marcus Head, Tommy Pinson, Chris Covington, Corey Blick, Steve Allensworth, and Craig Vaughn serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Monday, September 22nd, and again from 9am until time of the service at 10am Tuesday, September 23rd, at the funeral home. Mr. Plunkett was born January 22, 1972 in Springfield, to the late Edward Ray Plunkett, and the late Barbara Lee White Plunkett. He received a Bachelor of Agriculture Science from Austin Peay State University and was an Outside Sales Representative with the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative. Mr. Plunkett loved all things agriculture and the outdoors. He was an avid TN VOLS fan, loved music and loved his girls and family very much. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Shannon Holman Plunkett; daughters, Jilliann Plunkett, and Jenna Beth Plunkett; sister, Robin (Jim) Duke; nieces, Brittany (Allen) Strickland, Bryanna (Chad) Tate, and Annabelle Brandon; nephew, Winn Brandon; 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews; father-in-law, Jerry (Sherry) Holman; mother-in-law, Ann (Jim) Vaughan; and sister-in-law, Wendy (Chuck) Brandon.
