Michael Ray Powell

Michael Ray Powell, age 60, went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on January 3, 1966, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to his parents, Ron and Fleida Powell.
Michael proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran and carried a deep compassion for his fellow service members throughout his life. He strongly believed in standing up for those who served our nation. After his military service, Michael became an electrician, a career he took great pride in and where he found his passion.
Michael was a simple man who lived life to the fullest and found joy in the things that mattered most. He especially enjoyed driving his beloved Jeep and spending time with his family and friends. His loyal dog, Sweet Pea, was a constant companion and brought him great comfort.
Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Cunningham; his beloved dog, Sweet Pea; his parents, Ron and Fleida Powell; his sister, Sabra Tarrant; and his stepsons, Shawn Shepherd and Christopher Cunningham.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Watkins Cemetery, located at 17555 Watkins Rd E, Loudon, Tennessee. Military honors will be provided by the Loudon County Honor Guard.
