Michael Quirin

Michael Quirin was called home by the Lord on April 26, 2024 after a long and well fought eight year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on May 16, 1948 in Canton Ohio, to the late Paul and Louise Quirin. Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Humphrey; and his loving wife of 47 years, Gloria Quirin who he can now enjoy eternal rest with in Heaven. He is survived by his daughter, Tina (Mike) Biasella; his grandsons, Vincent and Rocco; brother, Pete (Ginny) Quirin; sister, Clare Fawcett; and many special nieces and nephews.
Mike was strong in his faith, and lived a truly selfless life rooted in helping others, he never knew a stranger. Always in his trademark cowboy hat, he was known to offer help to anyone who needed it. He was an army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War as a Military Police Officer in South Korea. After returning from service, he took a sabbatical in California where he met his beautiful wife Gloria, brought her back to Ohio, and together they created a wonderful life. Once back in Canton, he took a job at Gregory Industries (then Gregory Galvanizing) and retired after 44 years of dedicated service. Mike kept busy with home projects, feeding and watching the many birds on his property, his church, and enjoying his grandchildren. He was never one to sit still, and always had a list of items he was working on. The world has lost a giant of man, but heaven has gained a most precious angel. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike lived the life he wanted until the very end and was able to enjoy eight years of memories when he was told he might only get three. Mass of Christian burial will be on May 3, 2024 at 11am at Holy Family Parish, 216 Wooster St. NE Navarre, OH 44662. Friends and family may visit from 10-11.
