MICHAEL BEASLEY Obituary

MICHAEL RAWSON BEASLEY
April 21, 1948 - December 14, 2024
Santa Fe- Mike Beasley, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. A Tesuque, NM native, Mike was a combat veteran, corporate visionary, and an all-around good man who touched many lives across the country.
Born and raised on a horse ranch in Tesuque, NM, Mike was a graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute where he was a three-time New Mexico State Small Bore Rifle Champion. Following completion of his Associate's Degree, Mike volunteered to serve in the United States Army from 1969-1973. He was an Officer and Company Commander, ultimately achieving the rank of Captain. He completed a combat tour in Vietnam from 1971-1972, where he was assigned to MACV Advisory Team 87 in Xuan Loc, III Corps. Mike earned his Combat Infantry Badge and was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Valor.
After fulfilling his service to his country, Mike began his corporate career at Merrill Lynch in the Capital Markets Group, eventually managing the Corporate Financial Services Group for the U.S. Southern Region. In 1986, he joined Callan Associates in Atlanta and later took over management of the New York office, eventually overseeing regional offices in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Atlanta by 1991.
In a characteristically bold move, in 1994 Mike struck out on his own to co-found Strategic Investment Solutions, Inc. in San Francisco, CA, serving as chairman until 2012. His vision was to create a pension-consulting business distinguished by ethical commitment and a focus on employees and clients, and Mike's expertise made him a sought-after speaker and advisory board member within the industry.
In 2012, Mike began transitioning to retirement, relocating back to the family ranch in Tesuque, NM, where he engaged in his passions for fishing and golf, and connected with old and new friends, including other military veterans. He had a wide circle of friends all over the country and was a proud father to two daughters. His giant personality, irreverent sense of humor, generosity, optimism, limitless curiosity, and insatiable zest for life will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Winnabelle, and his brothers Dennis and Peter. He is survived by his brother, Patrick Beasley (Tesuque, NM), his daughter Laura Beasley and son-in-law Pieter Voorhees (New York, NY), and his daughter Joy Beasley and daughter-in-law Shayna Iglesias (Baltimore, MD). He leaves behind many cherished friends (both human and furry) and will be fondly remembered by all.
