Michael Reed Obituary
Mike was born on May 5, 1945, in Akron, Indiana, to the late Lloyd and F. Grethel (Hutchison) Reed. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, spending time in Germany before being deployed to Vietnam. On August 22, 1975, he married Mary Lou Miller at the Olive Branch Church.
He found joy in raising cattle and working on the road crew for E & B Paving. Mike was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 402 in Laketon. He was a wonderful husband and enjoyed socializing with friends in the community.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Reed of Akron; brother David Reed of Marietta, Georgia, sisters Marcille Needham of Wabash; Joyce Greer of Peru; Wanda Wildermuth of Rochester; several nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James Reed and Dean Reed; and sisters Marilyn Maynard and Carol Leedy.
Following his wishes, no services will be held. His remembrance place will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery, of rural Silver Lake, Indiana.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.
Memorial can be made in his memory to the donor's choice of charity.
