Ruth Marie Reed

Ruth Marie (Holmberg) Reed, 93 of Bloomington, MN passed away December 7, 2025 at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. Born September 6, 1932 in Ironwood, MI to AW and Margaret Holmberg. She was a 1950 graduate of Luther L Wright HS and received her RN in nursing in 1954 from the U of MN where she was an active member of the Tri Delta sorority. That same year, she married Glen A Reed (deceased) whom she met while at the U of MN. She is survived by her son Steve (Julie) and their children Tony (Lauren), Evan (Mary) and by her son Doug (Pam) and his children Lauren (Taylor), Eric (Meredith) and by her five great-grandchildren as well as her sister Margaret/Peggy (Kurt) Garoutte. She is preceded in death by her sister Helen (Bill) Eisele. An active member of Golden Valley Community Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed golfing, attending sporting events at the U of MN and hosting friends and family at her lake home in Mercer, WI. Ruth's legacy of kindness, generosity and love will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing her. A private celebration of life is planned for a later date.
