Michael Rider

Michael Rider passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025 in OhioHealth Mansfield. He leaves behind a family who will miss him deeply and remember him for the life he lived and the way he cared for others.
Michael was born November 29, 1956 in Mansfield, Ohio to parents Howard & Earlene (Dorsey) Rider. He graduated from Crestview High School with the class of 1975. He worked for Richland Screw Machine for over 25 years ending his career as a plant manager.
Michael was a hard worker through and through. He was caring, servant-minded, and always willing to help, especially through his church and his family. He showed his love by showing up and by working hard for the people who mattered to him. He could be stubborn, but it came from conviction and a desire to do things right.
He enjoyed sports and cheering on the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He especially loved the game of golf and rooting on his favorite golfer Phil Mickelson. Cooking was one of his favorite things to do, and many family memories were made around meals he prepared. He also enjoyed riding horses and competed in barrel racing. Some of his best moments were spent with his kids and grandkids, just being together with his family was his favorite. His grandchildren were the pride of his life.
Michael is survived by his wife, Robin Rider; his mother, Earlene Nelson; his brothers, Jeff (Lisa) Rider and Tim (Barb) Rider; and his stepbrother, Parker (Kerry) Nelson.He is also survived by his children and grandchildren: Josh (Brenda) Rider and their children, Logan, Dylan, and Kayleann; Jamie (Ryan) Brown and their children, Therin and Dierks; Jesse (Savannah) Rider and their children, Brooklyn, Bella, Madden, Kaylee, and Gianna; Jarrod Rider and his children, Peyton and Triston.
Michael was preceded in death by grandmother Evelyn Rider, father Howard Rider, step-father Neil Nelson, and brother Ron Rider.
Michael will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father and playful grandpa, and a man who lived his faith through service. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and love that will carry on through his family.
The Rider family will accept friends Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 1-3 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Homes (2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield).
