Michael Riley

Riley, Michael "Mike", born December 10, 1942, in Pontiac, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2025, at 82 years of age. Son of Harold "Cye" Riley and Goldie (Dakasian) Riley; brother of Patrick Riley, and Kathleen Riley; husband of Zelma Riley for 43 years; beloved father of Kim Rabideau, Teresa (James) Linthorne, and Katie Raymond; stepfather of Dennis Warren, Patty Karella, and Kirk Warren. Mike had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army. After leaving the military, he returned to Michigan to begin his career with General Motors, retiring as a computer programmer in 1994. Mike loved the outdoors, hunting, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, and spending time with friends. He and Zelma eventually turned their passion for Great Lakes salmon and trout fishing into a small fishing charter service, Chief Charters, located in Grindstone City, Michigan. They made many wonderful memories with friends like Jan and Helen Lawrence, family, and the wonderful people they hosted on their boat. Seeking new adventures, Mike and Zee began traveling around the U.S., before making a home in Texas. They bought property and started a small ranch, raising and caring for calves. Mike loved living on the ranch, becoming part of a community of long-time ranchers, and caring for the animals; he often said ranching was what he loved most of all. In 2009, Mike began a very long battle with cancer. Due to growing health care concerns, Mike and Zelma moved to Florida. He began golfing and spending time with new friends. Mike spent the last few months of his life in Michigan, close to his family.
