Michael Lewis Roberts

Michael Lewis Roberts, 31, son of Timothy and Mary Roberts of Summit, Mississippi, died Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Hancock County. Michael was born May 10, 1992, in Hartford City, Indiana, and grew up in Pike County. He attended St. Alphonsus, McComb, and North Pike Schools.
Michael had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He lived his life with a wondrous spirit and while he recognized his own struggles, he always sought to help others in any way he could, especially through the gift of his beautiful smile and humorous character. According to one old friend, Michael was "authentic and raw, never feeling the need to be something he wasn't or the need to fit into any of the molds we often find ourselves conforming to in high school." We as a family will miss Michael tremendously and know that he will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him and through the precious children who survive him.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John H. Roberts, II. He is survived by his parents and three children- Lizzie, Mikey, and Alex, three sisters, Lindsey Belsom and husband Brice, Sarah Bonson, and Christina Roberts. He is also survived by maternal grandparents, Robert Dunn and Mark and Linda Friermood, and paternal grandmother Eileen Roberts, a niece and three nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb. Visitation will continue at 11am Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb, and a funeral Mass will follow at noon. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brice Belsom, Daniel Bonson, Gavin Alexander, Paul Wells, Danny Dunn, and Danny Carvelle Dunn.
