Michael Dee Robinette, 73, of Columbus, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at his home. He was born in Franklin, IN on August 19, 1951 to Lomen D. Robinette and Shirley Conway Robinette. He married Teresa Adam on February 24, 1979. Michael enjoyed fishing and was passionate about building scale model cars. He received many awards for his unique creations. He was always quick with a joke and loved making people laugh. He had a vast knowledge of obscure things. He enjoyed writing short stories. He had so many amazing stories about, as he put it, "being in the right place at the right time". He loved gardening and raising chickens. Michael's interests were a mirror to his character-thoughtful, precise, and full of warmth. He was a friend to many, always ready with a word of encouragement or a listening ear. His presence was a comfort, a steady force in the lives of those who knew him. Michael Robinette will be deeply missed, but the richness of his life's work and the love he shared will remain as a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him. In keeping with Michael's wishes, cremation is planned. The Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home is serving the family. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Robinette; son, Michael A. (Sherry) Robinette; grandchildren, Ayriana L. (Wyatt) Yarbrough, Ayres Sayer and Alivia Sayer; brothers-in-law, David (Audrey) Adam and Greg (Robin) Adam; special nephew, Harley Shane Clifton; niece, Sheila (Andrew) Burgess and special friend, Mike Hollin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lomen and Shirley Robinette; sister, Brenda; mother-in-law, Flouelle George; brother-in-law, Steven Adam.
