Michael L. Rogelis

Michael L. Rogelis, age 75, of Chelmsford, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 20, 2025. A dedicated worker, and steadfast friend, Michael leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and loyalty.

Born in Lawrence, MA in 1950, Michael was the beloved son of the late Mary (Canzano) Rogelis. He grew up rooted in strong family values, which remained a guiding force throughout his life. He was the loving brother of Stella Justin and her husband Owen, and Diane Joslin, wife of the late Dewi Joslin. He was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Michael proudly served in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his sense of honor, discipline, and commitment to service. After his military years, he began a career at Raytheon. After that time, Michael found joy and purpose in his second career as a landscaper, tending to lawns and gardens with the same care and precision he showed in every aspect of life.

He was most at peace with his hands in the dirt, cultivating his beloved tomato plants and spending time outdoors. His garden was not just a hobby, it was a reflection of his patience, pride, and connection to nature.

He was family oriented, always finding ways to stay connected and supportive. He was spoiled by his aunts, who lovingly fussed over him with his favorite dishes, feeding both his appetite and his heart. He never turned down a good meal and cherished the comfort of a full plate and shared conversation.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, excited by the roar of the engines and the rush of the race. He delighted in watching each lap, knowing the thrill that came with speed and skill. Michael also took deep pride in his sobriety of over 22 years, a personal triumph that he shared with honesty and dignity. His journey served as a quiet inspiration to others seeking strength and renewal. He was a friend of "Bill W." for 22 years.

In addition to his mother, Michael is predeceased by his beloved cat, Snowball.

Michael's Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen MA. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
