Michael Howard Rommel (affectionately known as Cujo by his friends and coworkers), 62 of Ripley, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky. He was a Union Pipefitter. He enjoyed fishing, bluegrass music, playing his mandolin and watching all the birds that came to his bird feeders. Mr. Rommel was born September 17, 1963 in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of the late James and Phyllis (Lunsford) Rommel. He was also preceded in death by two brothers – William Wayne Rommel and Kevin Rommel.
Mr. Rommel is survived by his partner of nineteen years – Julie Blackburn of Ripley, Ohio; two grandsons – Kyler Combs and Noah VanTielen; three siblings – James Rommel (Janice), Dan Rommel (Jennifer) and Teresa Crawford (Doug).
Following cremation, there will be no services.
