surrounded by loved ones. Michael was born on February 2, 1939 to Geraldine and Irving Rosenfeld in New York City. Michael and his family later moved to Coral Gables, FL, and after Michael graduated from Coral Gables High School, he went on to earn two PhDs.
After graduation, he worked as an entrepreneur, owning and running many restaurants. Michael was
passionate about cooking and traveling, and he loved what he did for a living.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Geraldine and Irving Rosenfeld of Delray Beach, FL, his sister
Lauretta Pitchel of New Jersey, and his sister Karen Feld of Deerfield Beach, FL. He is survived by his sister Iris Davis of Lake City, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
There will be a viewing for family and friends at Forest Meadows Funeral Home (725 N.W. 23rd
Avenue Gainsville, FL) on October 16th at 10:00 A.M., followed by a graveside service at Forest Meadows
Cemetery (4100 N.W. 39th Avenue Gainsville, FL) at 11:00 A.M.

Knew Mike for a few years back in the 80's when he operated some sandwich shops in Greenville S.C. area. I wanted to open a fun center in a local shopping mall and the mall said no thankyou. On the phone Mike said "Stick by your office a while." 20 minutes later the Mall called and said "Sir we would love to have you!" The Magic Quarter was born and we opened several very successful locations.
I considered Mike to be an incredible thinker and friend. I wished he had stayed in this area but Florida was his first love. Miss you Mike!

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I had a chance to visit with the Florida side of the family in 2018. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with Mike and Karen, along with many other cousins I have not seen in such a long time. My sincere condolences to all who knew and loved Mike. I've attached a couple of pictures here that were among my Bubby Claire's photos. Hugs to the family.
