Michael Albert "Mike" Rowlett

Michael 'Mike' Albert Rowlett, of Mico, Texas, passed away July 16, 2025 at the age of 65. He was born September 22, 1959 in Hondo, Texas, to Albert 'Al' Newton Rowlett and Ruth Olga Reus Rowlett. Growing up in the neighborhood of Kollman Oaks in the house that his father built, Mike learned to hunt, play baseball and football, instigated many shenanigans with the neighbor kids (one of which would become his future brother-in-law), and learned the value of hard work and faith. Mike attended Hondo High School where he played baseball and football and met his wife, Teresa Rock. Mike and Teresa graduated in 1978 and were married on June 5, 1982. Mike and Teresa moved to Laredo, Texas where Mike worked for an oilfield services company. They welcomed their first child, David Michael, in November 1984, relocated to San Antonio, TX in 1986, and welcomed their second child, Kellie Marie, in April 1988. Over the next several decades, Mike worked as a private postal store owner, a logistics shipping manager with the Oberthur Gaming Technologies. Prior to his retirement in December of 2023, he was the logistics operations manager for Clinical Pathology Labs. Mike enjoyed BBQ, hunting, going to the casino with his wife to play his lucky "Buffaloes," golfing with his son, and being a band roadie for his daughter's school band. But his most recent joy in life was being a Paw Paw to Abby and Matthew. Mike is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Teresa Rowlett of Mico; son, David Rowlett (Jennifer) of Mico; daughter, Kellie Hutchinson (Travis) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Abigail Rowlett and Matthew Rowlett; sister, Pamela Hare of San Antonio; brother, Gary Rowlett (Diane) of Phoenix, Arizona; in-laws, Patricia Williams (Pat) of San Antonio, Mary Ellen "Tootie" Weynand of Castroville, John Rock of Hondo, and Barbie Patterson (Jay) of San Antonio. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers-in-law, Randall Hare, Joey Weynand, and Jerry Rock; and sister-in-law, Belita Rock. The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 13715 Riggs Road, Helotes, Texas.
