Michael Dean Salmon

Michael Dean Salmon, age 64, of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away on February 12, 2026. Born on November 9, 1961, he lived a life defined by his sharp sense of humor, unwavering work ethic, and deep dedication to the people he loved.

Michael was a devoted husband to Lori Salmon, a loving father to Brittany Vanderpool and Courtney Wilson, and a proud Paw Paw to Annabelle, Noah, Sam, and Emma. Survived by his three younger brothers, Mark, Myron, and Tommy. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews, cousin, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He had a special love for animals, especially his two pups, Zoe and Lily, who were never far from his side and would curl up with him at any opportunity.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Salmon and Betty "Pat" Salmon.

Michael found joy in working with his hands and got satisfaction in solving complicated projects for his employer, Packsize. He approached every challenge with determination and a willingness to tackle anything set before him. Outside of work, he continued to tinker with various hobbies and projects, like his fishing kayak and boat. He took pride in his work, always building up something to its maximum potential, with the best gear and accessories. His Jeep truck stood as a reflection of his personality-capable, dependable, and uniquely his. He cherished time spent at the beach with friends and family, where his easy laugh and steady presence made every moment feel lighter.

A visitation will be held at Rich & Thompson Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 306 Glenwood Ave, Burlington, NC 27215, on Saturday, February 21st, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and celebrate the life of a man whose love, humor, and steady strength will remain in their hearts always.
