Michael Emerson Schanderl, our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on October 26, 2023. Born on August 14, 1978 in beautiful Truckee, California to Michael Bernd Schanderl and Sandra (Sandee).
Mike loved the outdoors, one of his passions was fishing the streams as a toddler in his backyard in Lake Tahoe. Mike seemed to have a supernatural talent to pull in fish.
Another passion of Mike's was skiing and snowboarding. He developed a desire to ski by being in a front carrier with his mom on the slopes as an infant. Mike got his first skis at 5 months old. Later, he became an excellent snowboarder.
Mike's family moved to Utah when he was 4 years old. His life was blessed with loving attention from his grandma, many cousins, and aunts and uncles.
As he grew up, Mike spent his summers fishing on the Provo River at Frazier Park. He became an avid fly fisherman and tied amazing colorful flies.
He loved all kinds of hunting, especially rifle and bow hunting, and took many trophy deer.
Mike fell in love at a young age and married Becky Daybell on October 1, 1998. He is the father of two wonderful young men, Jeremy Lee Schanderl and Bradlee Daniel Schanderl, whom he dearly loved!
Mike developed an interest in commercial electrical work and has held an Utah Electrical license for 20 years, and worked for some of Utah's best electrical companies. He was a great handyman and was a huge support to his mom.
His life ended much too soon, and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his parents; Michael B. Schanderl and Sandra M. Gibson (Val), sons; Jeremy Lee Schanderl (Rachel) and Bradlee Daniel Schanderl, and his siblings; Shane Joseph Schanderl (Calley) and Mandee Marie Pyne (Kent). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
