Michael Schlobohm, 80, of Oshkosh passed away suddenly Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Garden County Health Services Hospital in Oshkosh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, July 31, 2025 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh with Father Bryan Ernest and Deacon Dixon Powers officiating.  Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorials in Mike’s name can be made to the family for later designation.

Micheal Blair Schlobohm was born to Harold and Nellie (Blair) Schlobohm in Columbus, Mississippi on December 19, 1944. He was the oldest sibling to Maureen, Steve, Ellen, and Candice. He attended school at St. Peter and Paul and graduated from Alton, Illinois High School in 1963.

After high school he enlisted in the Navy. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He earned many awards and commendations over a 20 year career. After his honorable discharge in 1983 he moved to Cheyenne to be close to his sister. They enjoyed trips to Lake McConaughy where he had a summer home. It was there he met Judy Smith.

Mike and Judy were married on June 17, 2000 in Alton, Illinois. They made their home in Oshkosh for the following 25 years. Mike worked for 10 years at Cabelas.

Mike and Judy enjoyed many trips traveling together especially to the south. He enjoyed taking care of his home and trees, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Ernest (Megan) Schlobohm of Anderson, South Carolina, Michelle (Mark) Keeter of Newport News, Virginia, Brandon (Ashley) Schlobohm of Watertown, New York, and Scott (Jody) Smith of Oshkosh; 6 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Maureen Trout of Sun City West, Arizona, Ellen Bell of San Antonio, Texas, and Candice (Scott) Hovey of Godfrey, Illinois; brother-in-law, Don (Ann) Merlo of Carmel, Indiana; sisters-in-law, Lois Keas of Grand Island, Nebraska and Marilyn Rehm of Fairmont, Nebraska and Judy Schlobohm of Georgetown, Texas; and other extended family members and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Steve Schlobohm, and bother-in-law, John Trout.
