Michael P. Schnell, age 70 of Oak Forest, passed away on November 11th, surrounded by his loving family. Mike graduated from Kelly High School in '73. Following that, he started his career as a general contractor. Not only did he build his own home, he also built a successful business. Mike modeled how to live life to the fullest. He held an interest in many different hobbies, but his love for the lake and his passion for boats is something he will be remembered for. Even through his battle with cancer, he continued to live life at full speed, from one adventure to the next. His fighting spirit and strong will to live will always be remembered.
Mike was the beloved husband to Alicia Schnell (nee Gamino); loving father of the late Michael Schnell Jr., Traci (Steve) Ilkanic, Bella, and daughter-in-law, Grace Soderlund; proud grandpa of Zack, Kaylee, Mikey, Lily, Blakely, and Rylee; devoted son of the late Lavern and Catherine Schnell; cherished brother to Wayne (Colleen), Doug, Dave (Gina), and Glenn; adored uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Monday 3-8 p.m.
Funeral Tuesday 9:00 a.m. from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL to St. Damian Church, Mass 10:00 a.m.
Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery
