Michael Daniel Scott MD

Michael Daniel Scott, MD passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Tifton, GA in 1955. Michael served in the Air Force for six years before attending the Medical College of Georgia, where he received his MD, followed by his residency at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston Salem, NC. He later went on to practice radiology in several places including Tifton, Alpharetta, and most recently Columbus. He was a dedicated and hard-working physician, appreciated and loved by both his patients and coworkers. He was perhaps best remembered for his sense of humor amongst family, friends, and coworkers. He was an avid woodworker, filling his home with handmade furniture, carvings, and other projects. He loved to fish and found peace on the water. He passed on his love for these hobbies to both of his sons. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, LA Scott and Emily Sanders Scott. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Scott (neé Folle), sons Michael Jr. (Katie) and Josh (Jenna), brother Steven (Etta Lynn), and sister Patricia. Services will be held at Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock, GA. A viewing will be on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and a second viewing will be on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a short service at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org/donate) or the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org) are preferred in his name.
