Mr. Michael Shea

Michael Shea, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of Kathleen (Woidyla) Shea, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was 69.

Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, on June 25, 1956, Michael was the beloved son of the late Cornelius D. and Elisabeth (Haseltine) Shea. Michael was a US Coast Guard veteran. Michael worked in the auto industry for most of his career and later transitioned to ministry-driven work as a Food Coordinator for Lazarus House in Lawrence before retiring. Once retired, Michael worked summers as a host at his favorite restaurant, the Tuna Striker Pub in Seabrook Beach.

In his spare time, Michael enjoyed rooting for all the Boston Sports teams, especially the Bruins. He loved going to the beach, vacationing with family, woodworking in his basement, and tackling any household project that came his way. He had a fabulous sense of humor that brightened everyone's day. Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, a lifelong Parishioner of St. Augustine Church in Andover, and a Cursillista of St. Basil's Salvatorian center in Methuen. Most of all, Michael was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Besides his beloved wife, Kathleen, Michael is survived by his loving children: Michael R. Shea and his wife, Marcia of Haverhill, Christopher J. Shea and his fiancé, Thalia Reiley of Danvers and Kevin J. Shea and his fiancé Nicole Dumas of Sanford, Maine, brother and sisters-in-law; David Shea and his wife, Ann of Westport, Connecticut and Kelly Shea of Tewksbury, grandchildren; Michael J. Shea, Jackson Shea and Everleigh Rivera and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was also the brother of the late Timothy Shea.

Michael's funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the church on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be privately held.
