Michael Shane Simsen

Michael Shane Simsen of Ocean County, New Jersey, passed on February 25, 2026, at the age of 67. He was born in Tacoma, Washington and was a proud resident of Ocean Gate, NJ for many years.

Michael was an alumnus of Central Regional High School. He proudly served in the United States Army, attached to the 4th Squadron 12th Calvary stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana.

After his service, he was employed as an electrician with Ocean County Buildings and Grounds, where he spent his entire career until retirement.

To his family, Michael was a devoted father and caring person – always ready to lend a hand. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for music, the ocean, cooking (especially grilling), gardening, desire to make others laugh and his love for his family and friends.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Donald Simsen and Charlotte Leibrick Simsen, sister Kathy and brother Donald.

He is survived by his children, Melissa, Jessica, Thomas, Ella and Michael; Ellen – mother to Ella and Michael; his brothers, John and Tommy; his sisters, Mary and Meg; as well as many cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed, forever loved and always remembered.

Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 3:00-8:00pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ.
