Michael Sinclair Obituary

MICHAEL DEAN SINCLAIR
March 28, 1938 ˜ March 9, 2026

Michael Dean Sinclair, affectionately known as “Iron Mike,” passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Born on March 28, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, to Margaret and Lloyd Sinclair. Michael was shaped by a rural upbringing and a lifetime of hard, honest work.

From a young age, Michael developed a deep appreciation for hard work and the land. His lifelong career as a longshoreman earned him the nickname “Iron Mike,” a testament to his strength, dedication, and resilience. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter, always ready to lend a hand.

Michael was first married to Beverly (Dewey) Fuhrman, who survives him, and later to Barbara (Murphy) Sinclair, who preceded him in death. He is lovingly remembered by his three children: Monty Sinclair, Mitch Sinclair, and Michele Owen; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as his seven stepchildren: Linda Johnson, who preceded him in death; Cynthia Callahan; Tamara Daining; Joseph Cooper; Julia Cory; Tina Hess; and Vincent Murphy; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In his free time, Michael found joy in working on machines, tending the land, and exploring the world through travel. His stories, ornery sense of humor, and unwavering spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ridgefield, Washington (21720 Northeast 29th Avenue, Ridgefield, WA 98642) on Tuesday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m.
