Michael Robert “Mike” Slezak, age 69, of Lockbourne, Ohio, passed away on August 8, 2024. He was born in Sacramento, California on April 29, 1955 to the late Robert Slezak and Charlene Slezak.
Michael is survived by his wife of 3 ½ years Susan Slezak; children Jason Slezak, Jodi Bernowski, Katie Brown, and Jennifer (Adam Sherman) Slezak; sisters Debbie Revier, Patty (Rocco LaForgia) Arteaga; grandchildren Brianna Sherman, Lucas Sherman, Kaiden Brown, Caelan Bernowski, Cloe Brown, Iain Bernowski, and Kylar Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Michael loved to cook for friends and family, creating, updating, and reinventing many recipes from his mother to Food Network chefs. His spaghetti, sweet pickles, cookies and especially Christmas candies will be missed, but will live on through those he loved, who he entrusted his “secret” recipes to.
Michael proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a well-versed athlete, playing football and basketball through high school and college and an avid golfer later in life. He loved to fish with his father in Alaska and often spoke fondly of those memories.
Michael loved to travel, and went on numerous cruises in the Caribbean, his favorite being through the Panama Canal with his closest family members. He had a passion for gardening that he got from his father, which he relished in for many years. Michael had a deep passion and love for his family, especially his grandchildren. They were his joy and his heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
